Who am I ?

To travel for me, especially far away, had never been completely fun. The luggage, the journey, the time shift, the hazards at each stage … I was often overtaken by my homebody side.

One day, I was taken on a cruise. In 2005, eleven days in the Caribbean from New York. But what was I going to be doing all this time on a boat ??? I had a lot of preconceptions about this type of vacation, influenced above all by acquaintances who had strong ideas on the subject, but who, most of the time, had never set foot on a cruise ship.

In fact, it was a revelation ! Put your suitcases in the cabin of a floating hotel and let yourself be taken from port of call to port of call, that changes everything. In the morning, you discover a new place, you visit, you go for a walk, you come back to the hotel, you have a great evening, you go to bed … and the next morning, you wake up elsewhere, effortlessly, without a suitcase to drag. I am convinced that cruises are the best way to travel:

• Suitcases emptied (and refilled) only once
• Live without planning, timing... once on the ship
• You can go everywhere on the planet
• One trip, mutiliple destinations
• Price is "all inclusive" (at least the essential)
• The comparison to a trip from hotel to hotel is clear (in terms of price)
• The (large) ships offer many and varied activities
• You can meet travelers from all over the world, easily (even French guys !)
• You can try so many things you have never done before

So, since then, I have visited the 4 corners of the planet. And I am creating this blog in 2021, in the midst of a travel shortage, due to the pandemic, to keep track of these many trips.
