Suez Canal and Egypt onboard Resilient Lady (October 2023)

The gyms (there are 2) are well equipped. Enough to compensate for the many copious meals, if you have the courage!

There are plenty of places where you can sit with your laptop. With the self-service food system here and there, these boats are very compatible with teleworking. The quality of the internet connection is there.

To escape, games of all kinds are available around a dedicated “sports bar”. Everything is free, including video games (which other companies dare to charge prohibitive prices).

The shows are also of a very good standard. In particular because they stand out from the standards of other companies. More daring (passengers must be adults to board), more contemporary (phew, we avoid the eternal “Sweet Carolina”) and with more European and always lively music groups!

I don’t have many pictures, but they are not forbidden. It is even encouraged to take some and publish them on social networks… a company in tune with the times, that’s for sure. So like on the other companies, we can’t avoid the Beatles… but Softcell, it’s rarer!

The cruise with the passage of the Suez Canal and the excursions in Egypt kept its promises and the very free lifestyle on board (no meals at a fixed time, everything is free), the absence of loud announcements on the loudspeaker every 5 minutes (information messages are sent by the application) and the resolutely more European atmosphere, are ultimately relaxing and pleasant.

The ship’s design is varied and modern without being aggressive. Sports activities have a good place there, as does the food of a very good standard and fully included, whatever you decide to eat.

Definitely a company to keep an eye on, with its new boats (4 in total now) and the new routes that will open up to it. Good value for money (around $2000 per person, with $300 credit on board). At around $140 per night per person, it is very competitive compared to companies that offer much less.

Obviously, this trip was part of a repositioning of the Resilient Lady in Australia. Some passengers were lucky enough to go from Athens to Dubai then Singapore and finally Sydney! So a somewhat unique cruise (until its return to Europe, with the same journey in the other direction).

To return from Dubai, I had come across a great promotion in Business on a company I didn’t know: Kuwait Airways. A ticket for around €900, from Dubai to Paris with a stopover in Kuwait City. And the surprise of a last-minute upgrade to First… also a first for me. What an experience at an unbeatable price!
