An Aqua Sky Suite onboard Celebrity Beyond (2022)

Some photos of the ports of call during this cruise. Covid-related restrictions were minimal: on board, mandatory vaccination, negative test less than 72 hours before boarding, masks mandatory only in the theater and in the casino. In the ports, with rare exceptions, the mask was no longer compulsory, and the exits were completely free.

On board, in this month of June, Pride month was celebrated with dignity, and the ship regularly displayed the rainbow flag at its bow. A special evening was even organized in the Rooftop Garden, with a great atmosphere that night.

Captain Kate McCue, one of the few women to command such a ship, was very present on board and quite easy to reach. She has a lot of activity on social networks, especially on Instagram!

Celebrity Cruises therefore continues to offer excellent ships and an irreproachable quality of service on board. This cruise was fully paid for with credits obtained following the cancellation of several cruises during the pandemic and the total cessation of travel. By keeping the money paid but not used, Celebrity has several times added 25% to the amount… hence the idea of trying an Aqua Sky Suite! However, I remain on my impression about the Retreat and the suites: it’s not that interesting considering the price. I will continue to prefer the Aqua Class cabins.

With its “Always included” program, we were able to benefit from the wifi stream included, tips included, the premium drink package and on-board credits… a real taste of “all inclusive”!

Internet access, as on my previous Celebrity cruises, was of good quality and perfectly stable. In its “stream” version, it was possible to watch Netflix without any problem.

In the cabin, the television still does not allow video broadcasting, but an Airplay mode, detectable by my Apple devices, seems present. It is password protected and nothing is accessible to passengers. A future return of this option?

I will always happily return to Celebrity and their Edge class boats. The next, under construction at Chantiers Navales de Saint-Nazaire, France, is underway. It will be called “Ascent”, scheduled for fall 2023. My next cruises with Celebrity are on board Apex in August, from Amsterdam to the Norwegian fjords, and then in 2023 on board Eclipse, for 30 nights, from Sydney to Vancouver, via Polynesia and Hawaii… in Aqua Class!

Finally, and to change the endless photos of sunsets, a series of photos of cocktails! Cheers !

Great review of the Apex Jean-Phillipe! Kim and I will be on there with my parents who you met a couple years ago. We will be doing the Rome to Fort Lauderdale TA and this is great help in seeing this new ship for us!
    Thanks, Ted
